A skilled Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience is needed for a contract assignment based in St John, KS. This opportunity involves providing perioperative nursing care across orthopedic, OB/Gyn (including C-sections), and general surgery cases. Responsibilities:

  • Perform circulating nurse duties in the operating room setting, ensuring patient safety and sterile technique during surgical procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff
  • Support perioperative patient care for orthopedic, OB/Gyn, and general surgery cases
  • Float to related procedural areas such as pain management and interventional radiology as needed
  • Participate in on-call rotations, covering evenings and weekends to maintain service coverage
  • Adhere to facility protocols including NICU free policies and infection control standards

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current KS Registered Nurse licensure
  • Minimum of 1 year circulating experience in an operating room with orthopedic, OB/Gyn, and general surgery cases (scrub experience not required)
  • Preferred: 2+ years OR experience, EPIC system familiarity, and previous travel nursing exposure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from AHA
  • Ability to commit to on-call schedule with 8 shifts monthly, including some weekend and holiday coverage

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week, start times variable
  • Contract position with virtual orientation provided prior to assignment
  • Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius (local applicants not accepted)
  • Bi-weekly pay with 8-hour orientation compensated
  • Facility maintains a nicotine-free policy
