Job Description Job Description About the Role We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Staff Accountant to join our tax team. This position is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, assisting with tax planning, and supporting clients with year-round tax matters. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, able to manage multiple tasks, and has a solid foundation in tax and accounting principles. Key Responsibilities Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and LLCs Assist with tax planning and projections throughout the year Conduct tax research and prepare written summaries of findings Gather and organize financial information from clients and internal teams Assist with responding to IRS and state notices Support year-end closing and preparation of tax workpapers Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations Build strong client relationships through timely and professional communication Contribute to process improvements and best practices within the tax department Perform additional duties as assigned by the Partner or Manager Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting 2 years of experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or related internships Basic understanding of federal and state tax laws Strong proficiency in Excel Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy CPA eligible or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred Preferred Skills Experience preparing 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and/or 1065 returns Familiarity with tax research tools Prior experience in a public accounting environment
