Overview Unarmed Security Guard role at Strategic Security Corporation (SSC). SSC is a nationwide provider of security guard services, executive protection, bomb dog, intelligence, consulting, investigative services. This role includes performing unarmed foot patrols in government, corporate, retail, or fast food environments and providing superior service to customers, visitors and employees. Responsibilities include composing reports, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, controlling access and egress, deterring criminal activity, and performing other duties as needed. Responsibilities Perform continuous patrols in assigned areas (e.g., parking lots, building rear areas) and monitor for suspicious or criminal activity. Observe and report incidents, unauthorized solicitation or literature distribution; refer inquiries to facility management as appropriate. Submit incident reports and check in/out using the facility’s time system; maintain professional appearance and demeanor; wear a uniform at all times. Provide emergency support as directed by management or first responders. Follow safety protocols; withdraw from dangerous situations and contact law enforcement when necessary. Operate and respond using company radio and cell phone; follow post orders and facility guidelines. Assist with basic first aid and perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle as needed. Ensure proper entry control; monitor entrances and exits; may use hand-held wands or walk-through magnetometers if required. Professional Appearance and Conduct Uniform must be worn at all times; grooming and attire must be clean and within company standards. Tattoos and jewelry must be non-offensive and safe. Interact respectfully with associates, customers, and the public; no foul or derogatory language. Education, Licenses And Certifications Required Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Pass a State licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle. Pass and possess a State Licensed Unarmed Security Guard Card/License if required by state/city/locality. Experience Required Verifiable work history; one or more of the following: graduate of an accredited high school or GED; or 1 year of security officer experience preferred. Skills Required Ability to follow orders; proficient in Microsoft Office; effective oral and written communication; active listening. Ability to assess situations quickly, identify critical issues, and maintain attention to detail. Other Requirements Must be at least 18 years old (or minimum age by state). Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States. Must be able to operate radio/telephone equipment; demonstrate ability to interact cordially with the public. Must be proactive with initiative and able to work with minimal supervision; possession of good judgment and integrity. Subject to a drug screen where permitted by law; may be required to provide a DD214 if prior military service. Physical duties include standing and walking; minimal stooping or kneeling.
