GUI Steakhouse & Bar 92 | New York City
GUI Steakhouse is a modern Korean-influenced steakhouse in Times Square, centered around premium cuts, charcoal grilling, and refined hospitality in an intimate, design-forward setting.
Bar 92 , located on the ground level, is GUI’s sister cocktail lounge—a high-energy yet elevated space focused on craft cocktails, spirits, and late-night hospitality.
Position OverviewThe Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing all beverage operations across GUI Steakhouse and Bar 92 , ensuring consistency, quality, and elevated hospitality across both concepts. This role is ideal for a leader who can balance high-volume service with refined execution, while adapting programming and service style to each venue’s distinct identity.
The Bar Manager works closely with ownership and senior leadership to maintain standards, develop beverage programs, and lead a strong bar team across both locations.
Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Operations & Program Oversight
Oversee all bar operations for GUI Steakhouse and Bar 92 , including cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings
Maintain consistency in recipes, presentation, and service standards across both venues
Collaborate with leadership on seasonal cocktail development and concept-specific menus
Ensure efficiency, quality control, and smooth execution during high-volume service
Team Leadership & Training
Hire, train, schedule, and manage bartenders and barbacks across both properties
Maintain a strong floor presence and lead by example during service
Conduct ongoing training on cocktails, spirits, wine knowledge, and hospitality standards
Build a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture
Inventory, Cost Control & Compliance
Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships for GUI and Bar 92
Monitor pour costs, waste, and overall bar profitability
Ensure full compliance with NYC and NYS liquor laws, health, and safety regulations
Oversee cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of all bar areas and equipment
Guest Experience & Service
Deliver elevated, personable hospitality aligned with each venue’s brand identity
Engage with guests to build regular clientele and enhance the bar experience
Address guest feedback and resolve issues promptly and professionally
Coordinate with FOH and management teams to ensure seamless service flow
Minimum 3–5 years of bar management experience in New York City
Experience overseeing multiple concepts or high-volume venues strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, and wine
Proven leadership and team-development skills
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage high-volume service without compromising quality
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
